Adding source video or audio files

o get started with video or audio files - convert them to a different format or cut out and glue fragments - add these files to a project; to the Source Files list to be precise. There are several ways for doing that, which you may choose from:

    click the Add Clip button;
    press CTRL+D;
    On the File menu, click Add clip.
    Drag and drop media files from Windows Explorer to the project area.

In the Open window that appears, browse to the clip file. You may select several files in the same folder.

Should you run into a problem opening certain files, you may need additional codecs for working with such files or install an updated version of the codecs you are using.

Note: this program is not purposed for working with Right-Protected files. As a rule, DRM-protected files are some WMV, WMA, and DVD files. Please do not use Joiner-Converter for processing Right-Protected files.

Once the required source files are added in the Source Files window, you will see the list of files available for editing and brief information on each of them - the format, frame size (for video files), duration, and size. To view the detailed information on a file, select the required file and then press Ctrl+Enter or select the Properties item on the context menu (available by right-clicking on the file). By selecting other files on the list, the Properties section that appears will display detailed information on the file's video and audio stream formats.

The order of files on the list reflects the order the files are added to the output file. You can change the fragment order with the Up and Down buttons at the right of Source Files list. Next...
