The lossless coding provides rather little levels of compression, but not a single bit of the data gets lost with this method, and therefore the picture quality does not suffer. The ideal quality of a picture can only be achieved when each bit of the image data is preserved. The lossless coding formats include, for instance: BMP, TIFF, and PNG image formats, PCM and LPCM audio formats, MSU, Uncompressed video formats.
